Lots of people have been really surprised and intrigued to know why I would swap a professional marketing job to be a complementary therapist. My main reason for looking for a new career was to address my work-life balance but also to find something new that I could be passionate about again.
I chose complementary therapy in order to help people feel better. What I love about it is that after spending an hour with someone, they feel a much calmer, more relaxed version of themselves. Due to the holistic approach I help them to think about everyday things they can do to continue to help them manage any ailments they have e.g. stress, headaches, IBS, menstrual problems. Small lifestyle changes can make a big difference to symptoms an individual is experiencing.
It’s a great feeling when a regular client tells you how their ailment has improved. I can’t think of any better job satisfaction than that.
